Anupama Kundoo Architects
Anupama Kundoo graduated from the University of Mumbai in 1989 and received her PhD from TU Berlin in 2008. Her research-oriented work has generated people-centric architecture, based on in-depth study of space and materials, with low environmental impact and socio-economic benefits, experimenting with new materialities for architecture. Kundoo has taught Architecture and Urban Management at several international universities, enhancing her expertise in rapid urbanisation and climate change-related development, and was Davenport Visiting Professor at Yale University in spring 2020, while currently lecturing at the Potsdam School of Architecture, Germany. She has received the RIBA Charles Jencks 2021 award for her contribution to architectural theory, the Auguste Perret 2021 award for architectural technology and the German Sustainable Building Council’s Building Sense Now 2021 global award. Her studios are based in Berlin, Germany, and Pune and Pondicherry, India.
